Tabula is a Chrome extension that groups related tabs, helps you find open tabs in a searchable side panel, and lets you review and close old tabs. You can group by domain or use your own ordered rules.

Yes. Tabula’s sidebar wraps long tab titles so you can read the full name. Search by title or URL to narrow the list, then select a tab to switch to it.

Open Tabula’s Rules page to generate or improve grouping rules. You can copy a prompt into your preferred AI tool and import the resulting JSON, or enable direct calling with your own Gemini API key or a local OpenAI-compatible endpoint. AI helps write the rules; Tabula applies them to your tabs.

No. Domain grouping, custom rules, tab search, and cleanup work without an AI connection. Direct AI calling is optional and off by default. If you enable Gemini, you supply your own key and your provider’s usage limits and charges apply.

Grouping preserves pinned tabs. Old-tab cleanup protects both pinned and active tabs, so those tabs are not eligible for that cleanup action.

Ordinary tab organization runs inside Chrome. If you enable direct AI calling, Tabula sends the generated prompt, containing tab titles, domains and/or rules, to the Gemini API or local endpoint you configure. It does not pass through a Tabula-owned server. Your API key is stored locally and is not synced.

Yes. The Rules page can apply rules across normal Chrome windows. An optional setting also lets the popup pull tabs from other open windows into the current window before grouping.

Old-tab cleanup is an action you choose. Set your threshold, review the tab list, and close eligible old tabs when you are ready. Pinned and active tabs are protected.

Tabula is available for Google Chrome through the Chrome Web Store. The extension includes English and Vietnamese. This website is currently in English.
